Sterilisation General Information
Andersen Caledonia sterilises devices using ethylene oxide in its gaseous form. Ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilisation is a well established method and the most popular method of sterilisation for disposable medical devices worldwide. The process has the twin benefits of being very effective and also non-damaging. Ethylene oxide is especially used for sterilisation of products made of plastics e.g. catheters, tubing and single use drapes, products incorporating electrical cables and optical products.
Andersen Caledonia has two large ethylene oxide chambers capable of sterilising up to 21 pallets twice a day and a smaller pallet chamber suitable for surface sterilisation. Turanaround times are typically between 3 and 7 days. We accept loads in boxes, pallets and shipping containers and sterilise both new devices and reprocessed devices. Andersen Caledonia has specific expertise in handling expensive instruments such as flexible endoscopes which require care and attention and working with customers with small loads.
Andersen Caledonia offers a full range of validation and testing services based on ISO11135 to support its sterilisation activities. Our company continues to invest in its own cycle development work which allows its customers a rapid and cost effective way to introduce new products for sterilisation.
