About Andersen Caledonia Ltd
Andersen Caledonia Ltd was founded in 1997 in Bellshill near Glasgow, Scotland as a spin out from Andersen Products. Between, the two founders (Lauren Ritchie and I) we had more than 15 years of experience in the ethylene oxide sterilisation business from the USA, Asia and Europe.
We saw that as a result of previous consolidation and increasing demand there was an opportunity for a new player in the UK infection control services market. With support from Scottish Enterprise and a small firm loan guarantee from the DTI we managed to raise the £1.5m capital required to build a state of the art ethylene oxide gas sterilisation plant and microbiological laboratory.
Over the last 10 years Andersen Caledonia Ltd has shown that there is a demand for a company which is run by engineers and microbiologists and focussed on customer service and innovation. The company is now well established with a strong organic growth rate, a multi-million pound turnover and a solid financial position.
In 2005 we opened a new office in Stafford and in 2007 we have upgraded this office to become an operational laboratory based at the Keele Science Park, England. This new expansion is part of our plan to continual improve our service to our customer base across the UK.
